This is an 8 year old Arborvitae from seed, one foot tall and wide.  It has always been grown in a pot, roots pruned and transplanted several times.

Japanese Black Pine

Japanese Black Pine being trained as a up side down cascade style.  Training pines in the Dai-kengai, vertical Cascade style (John Naka first book page 159, second book page 147).   Roy Nagatoshi showed me how to start training Black Pines in this style.  Nursery stock, 3 year old, roots have been pruned twice, 1/2 inch trunks,  qt.size pot.

Japanese Maple

Deep split Red Japanese Maple 6 years old, 3 Gal pot, 1 inch trunks.  These maples have been both root and top pruned to develop thick trunks, while keeping branches from becoming to large.   4 Available  $35.00 each

Have smaller Red Japanese Maples in 1 gallon pots, 1/2 to 1 inch trunks they are also available for $15.00 and $20.00.

Mikawa Black pine 3 year old seedlings

3 year old Mikawa  Black Pine seedlings with wired trunk.  Joe Gutierrez gave me the seeds. Seeds came from Japan’s Kyushu district.   Should be transplanted next spring to speed up growth and bonsai training.

Black pines

Black pine in a 2 gallon pot.  Roy Nagatoshi showed me how to bend trunks to develop Black Pines trunks with character.  Will back bud if candles are removed.   Roots have been pruned.
